In April this year Bonhams held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work 'Sunset Pool of London'; 'The Tower Bridge', a pair by Frank William Scarbrough. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,100.00 (€ 5,812.34), 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank William Scarbrough - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated), which sold at auction in May 2006 for GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,640.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Sunset Pool of London'; 'The Tower Bridge', a pair von Frank William Scarbrough zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.100,00 (€ 5.812,34) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank William Scarbrough mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated) beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.640,29) versteigert wurde.
