Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'London Bridge'; 'The Thames at Blackfriars London', a pair each 24.7 x 34.9cm (9 3/4 x 13 3/4in). (2) by Frank William Scarbrough was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 1,147.50 (€ 1,319.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank William Scarbrough achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated) in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,640.29).
