Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Boats on the Thames at Greenwich by Frank William Scarbrough. The price achieved of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,672.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Frank William Scarbrough have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated) in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,640.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boats on the Thames at Greenwich von Frank William Scarbrough zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.672,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank William Scarbrough auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated) im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.640,29).
