In June 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work The Red Cariole by Frederick Simpson Coburn. The auction ended at the price of CAD 30,000.00 (€ 23,011.96), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of CAD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Simpson Coburn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chatting On The Logging Trail in May 2011 with an auction result of CAD 129,000.00 (€ 92,622.29).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Red Cariole von Frederick Simpson Coburn zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von CAD 30.000,00 (€ 23.011,96) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Simpson Coburn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chatting On The Logging Trail im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 129.000,00 (€ 92.622,29).
