Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frederick Simpson Coburn could be acquired at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work The Artist'S Wife As Model changed hands for CAD 14,400.00 (€ 10,494.14) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Simpson Coburn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chatting On The Logging Trail in May 2011 with an auction result of CAD 129,000.00 (€ 92,622.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederick Simpson Coburn konnte im November 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Canadian Art wechselte die Arbeit The Artist'S Wife As Model für CAD 14.400,00 (€ 10.494,14) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Simpson Coburn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chatting On The Logging Trail im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 129.000,00 (€ 92.622,29).
