Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work The Logging Sleigh In Winter by Frederick Simpson Coburn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 20,400.00 (€ 15,941.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Simpson Coburn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chatting On The Logging Trail in May 2011 with an auction result of CAD 129,000.00 (€ 92,622.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Logging Sleigh In Winter von Frederick Simpson Coburn zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 20.400,00 (€ 15.941,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Simpson Coburn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chatting On The Logging Trail im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 129.000,00 (€ 92.622,29).
