Sold at the upper estimate price
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Australian Art, which included the work The Yarra From Kensington Road, South Yarra by Frederick McCubbin. The auction ended at the price of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 168,803.03), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick McCubbin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sawing Timber in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 731,700.00 (€ 994,256.19).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Yarra From Kensington Road, South Yarra von Frederick McCubbin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 168.803,03) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick McCubbin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sawing Timber im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 731.700,00 (€ 994.256,19).
