The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,660.23), 61% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick McCubbin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sawing Timber in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 731,700.00 (€ 994,256.19).
