Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian 'At The Falling Of The Year' by Frederick McCubbin was auctioned at Sothebys in Sydney in April 2008. The price achieved of AUD 96,000.00 (€ 58,082.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick McCubbin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sawing Timber in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 731,700.00 (€ 994,256.19).

Die Arbeit Australian 'At The Falling Of The Year' von Frederick McCubbin kam im April 2008 bei Sothebys in Sydney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 96.000,00 (€ 58.082,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick McCubbin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sawing Timber im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 731.700,00 (€ 994.256,19).
