Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Nude Study by Frederick McCubbin for AUD 23,900.00 (€ 14,691.46). This price was achieved in the auction PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION at Christies in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick McCubbin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sawing Timber in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 731,700.00 (€ 994,256.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Nude Study von Frederick McCubbin für AUD 23.900,00 (€ 14.691,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION bei Christies in Melbourne erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick McCubbin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sawing Timber im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 731.700,00 (€ 994.256,19).
