Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Australian Artist'S Day by Frederick McCubbin for AUD 8,400.00 (€ 5,060.13). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Sothebys in Sydney and was even below the estimate range of AUD 10,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick McCubbin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sawing Timber in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 731,700.00 (€ 994,256.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Australian Artist'S Day von Frederick McCubbin für AUD 8.400,00 (€ 5.060,13) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Sydney erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 10.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick McCubbin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sawing Timber im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 731.700,00 (€ 994.256,19).
