Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frederick H. Evans could be acquired at Sothebys in Paris in November 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important European Collection auction, the work ‘Borrowdale’ changed hands for EUR 6,875.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick H. Evans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'A Sea Of Steps', Wells Cathedral, Steps To Chapter House, 1903 in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 233,000.00 (€ 171,399.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederick H. Evans konnte im November 2016 bei Sothebys in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important European Collection wechselte die Arbeit ‘Borrowdale’ für EUR 6.875,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick H. Evans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'A Sea Of Steps', Wells Cathedral, Steps To Chapter House, 1903 im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 233.000,00 (€ 171.399,15).
