Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head on (#15 1985) by Frederick Hammersley was sold in the First Open | Online auction at Christies in New York in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,287.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Hammersley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ego I Go, #15 1975 in September last year with an auction result of USD 65,895.00 (€ 67,356.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Head on (#15 1985) von Frederick Hammersley wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion First Open | Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.287,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Hammersley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ego I Go, #15 1975 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 65.895,00 (€ 67.356,64).
