Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction first open - Post War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Old Salem: A Family of Strangers by Fred Wilson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,908.39), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fred Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bat in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 91,430.55).
