Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Fred Sandback could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London auction, this work without title changed hands for GBP 75,600.00 (€ 90,279.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fred Sandback have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Broadway Boogie Woogie (Sculptural Study, Twenty-two part Vertical Construction) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 495,724.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fred Sandback konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 75.600,00 (€ 90.279,83) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fred Sandback auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Broadway Boogie Woogie (Sculptural Study, Twenty-two part Vertical Construction) im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 545.000,00 (€ 495.724,94).
