Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU, which included the work A young gentleman called Don Diego Sarmiento de Acuña, Count of Gondomar, facing right in gold-embroidered brown doublet, triple lace ruff, moustache and beard by Frans Pourbus the Younger. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frans Pourbus the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait En Buste D'Elisabeth De in June 2014 with an auction result of EUR 529,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young gentleman called Don Diego Sarmiento de Acuña, Count of Gondomar, facing right in gold-embroidered brown doublet, triple lace ruff, moustache and beard von Frans Pourbus the Younger zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.761,47) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frans Pourbus the Younger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait En Buste D'Elisabeth De im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 529.500,00.
