Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Conradus Viëtor (1588-1657), aged 56, half-length, in a black doublet, cloak and hat, with a white ruff, and holding a book by Frans Hals for GBP 1,161,250.00 (€ 1,219,650.39). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Pictures (Evening Sale) at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Frans Hals have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a gentleman, aged 37; and Portrait of a lady, aged 36 in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 10,021,250.00 (€ 11,164,561.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Conradus Viëtor (1588-1657), aged 56, half-length, in a black doublet, cloak and hat, with a white ruff, and holding a book von Frans Hals für GBP 1.161.250,00 (€ 1.219.650,39) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master & British Pictures (Evening Sale) bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frans Hals auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, aged 37; and Portrait of a lady, aged 36 im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.021.250,00 (€ 11.164.561,26).
