Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Tronie Study Of The Head And Right Hand Of A Boy by Frans Hals was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 241,250.00 (€ 288,930.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frans Hals achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a gentleman, aged 37; and Portrait of a lady, aged 36 in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 10,021,250.00 (€ 11,164,561.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Tronie Study Of The Head And Right Hand Of A Boy von Frans Hals im Dezember 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 241.250,00 (€ 288.930,95) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frans Hals erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, aged 37; and Portrait of a lady, aged 36 im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.021.250,00 (€ 11.164.561,26).
