Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Man, Half-Length, Wearing A Black Cape With A White Collar by Frans Hals. The price achieved of USD 375,000.00 (€ 307,100.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frans Hals achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a gentleman, aged 37; and Portrait of a lady, aged 36 in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 10,021,250.00 (€ 11,164,561.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Man, Half-Length, Wearing A Black Cape With A White Collar von Frans Hals zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 375.000,00 (€ 307.100,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frans Hals erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, aged 37; and Portrait of a lady, aged 36 im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.021.250,00 (€ 11.164.561,26).
