In November 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work 'Morning Woolwich, London' by Frank William Scarbrough. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,530.00 (€ 1,708.00), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Frank William Scarbrough have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated) in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,640.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Morning Woolwich, London' von Frank William Scarbrough zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.530,00 (€ 1.708,00) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank William Scarbrough auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated) im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.640,29).
