Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 408,00 (€ 417,05) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Weston Benson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Reader im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.887.500,00 (€ 2.729.722,06).
