Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Setting Decoys by Frank Weston Benson was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Boston in January 2024. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,024.00 (€ 894.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Weston Benson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Reader in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,887,500.00 (€ 2,729,722.06).

Die Arbeit Setting Decoys von Frank Weston Benson kam im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.024,00 (€ 894,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Weston Benson erzielen.
