Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Frank Weston Benson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September last year. In the Prints & Photographs auction, the work Rain Squall sold for USD 612.00 (€ 625.57) - well above the upper estimate of USD 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Weston Benson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Reader in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,887,500.00 (€ 2,729,722.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Weston Benson erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Photographs wurde die Arbeit Rain Squall für USD 612,00 (€ 625,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Weston Benson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Reader im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.887.500,00 (€ 2.729.722,06).
