In April 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Pursuit Of A Cattle Thief by Frank Tenney Johnson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 80,500.00 (€ 60,851.16), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Frank Tenney Johnson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wyoming Cattlemen in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 550,000.00 (€ 472,224.61).

Im April 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pursuit Of A Cattle Thief von Frank Tenney Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 60.851,16) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Tenney Johnson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wyoming Cattlemen im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 550.000,00 (€ 472.224,61).
