Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Moonlight in the Canyon by Frank Tenney Johnson was sold in the Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection auction at Christies in New York in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 170,100.00 (€ 158,512.72). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Tenney Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wyoming Cattlemen, which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 550,000.00 (€ 472,224.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Moonlight in the Canyon von Frank Tenney Johnson wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 170.100,00 (€ 158.512,72) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank Tenney Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wyoming Cattlemen beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 550.000,00 (€ 472.224,61) versteigert wurde.
