Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Limpet gatherers; Seascape by moonlight by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe for GBP 587.50 (€ 984.96). This price was achieved in the auction PHOTOGRAPHS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scenes of Whitby, 1880S in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,474.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Limpet gatherers; Seascape by moonlight von Frank Meadow Sutcliffe für GBP 587,50 (€ 984,96) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PHOTOGRAPHS bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Meadow Sutcliffe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scenes of Whitby, 1880S im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.474,26).
