Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Pietro by Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart. The price achieved of AUD 9,560.00 (€ 5,825.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Arezzo Turn-Off II in November 2001 with an auction result of AUD 376,000.00 (€ 218,388.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pietro von Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 9.560,00 (€ 5.825,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Arezzo Turn-Off II im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 376.000,00 (€ 218.388,93).
