Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2004 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Figure Study by Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart. The price achieved of AUD 14,340.00 (€ 8,322.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Arezzo Turn-Off II in November 2001 with an auction result of AUD 376,000.00 (€ 218,388.93).

Im August 2004 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figure Study von Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 14.340,00 (€ 8.322,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Jeffrey Edson Smart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Arezzo Turn-Off II im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 376.000,00 (€ 218.388,93).
