Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Newlyn girl by Frank Dobson was sold in the Pictures and Prints Online auction at Bonhams in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 1,015.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Dobson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Female Torso in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 2,041,750.00 (€ 2,398,530.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Newlyn girl von Frank Dobson wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Pictures and Prints Online bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 892,50 (€ 1.015,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Dobson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Female Torso im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.041.750,00 (€ 2.398.530,29).
