Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2015 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art, which included the work La fontaine au village by Francis Smith. The price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 4,406.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scene Villageoise Au Portugal in February 2007 with an auction result of EUR 49,329.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit La fontaine au village von Francis Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 4.406,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scene Villageoise Au Portugal im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 49.329,00.
