Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The cutter Mermaid running into the fleet anchorage at the Downs by Francis Holman was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2003. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,291.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Holman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Blackwell Yard from the Thames in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 153,187.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The cutter Mermaid running into the fleet anchorage at the Downs von Francis Holman kam im Mai 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.291,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Holman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Blackwell Yard from the Thames im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 153.187,19).
