Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pale Green White & Dark Grey by Francis Davison was sold in the 20th Century British Art including The Olga Davenport Collection auction at Christies in London in March 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 943.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Davison achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled 9-9 (Fawn, White, Red And Green) in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,709.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pale Green White & Dark Grey von Francis Davison wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art including The Olga Davenport Collection bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 943,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Davison erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled 9-9 (Fawn, White, Red And Green) im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.709,36).
