Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Blue Angle in Orange Square by Francis Davison was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in December 2011. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,491.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Davison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled 9-9 (Fawn, White, Red And Green), which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,709.36).
