Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ghetto Collector (for Parkett no. 69) by Francis Alÿs was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in December last year. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,439.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Alÿs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study For The Last Clown in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,377.51).
