In December this year Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work The Nightwatch by Francis Alÿs. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 20,320.00 (€ 23,407.86), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Alÿs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study For The Last Clown in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,377.51).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen

Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Nightwatch von Francis Alÿs zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 20.320,00 (€ 23.407,86) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Alÿs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study For The Last Clown im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 288.000,00 (€ 427.377,51).
