This artwork by Fouad Kamel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in March 2015. In the Modern & Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 40,000.00 (€ 37,240.48) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fouad Kamel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Egyptian untitled (The Drinker), which sold at auction in April 2017 for GBP 93,750.00 (€ 111,329.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fouad Kamel erzielte im März 2015 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 40.000,00 (€ 37.240,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fouad Kamel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Egyptian untitled (The Drinker) beobachtet, die im April 2017 für GBP 93.750,00 (€ 111.329,74) versteigert wurde.
