Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Egyptian untitled by Fouad Kamel was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,101.77). Admittedly, works by Fouad Kamel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Egyptian untitled (The Drinker) in April 2017 with an auction result of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 111,329.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Egyptian untitled von Fouad Kamel im April 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 14.101,77) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fouad Kamel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Egyptian untitled (The Drinker) im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 111.329,74).
