In April 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art/ Middle East, which included the work Egyptian untitled (Woman With A Horse) by Fouad Kamel. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 33,750.00 (€ 40,078.71), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fouad Kamel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Egyptian untitled (The Drinker), which sold at auction in April 2017 for GBP 93,750.00 (€ 111,329.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art/ Middle East durch, in der auch die Arbeit Egyptian untitled (Woman With A Horse) von Fouad Kamel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 33.750,00 (€ 40.078,71) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Fouad Kamel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Egyptian untitled (The Drinker) beobachtet, die im April 2017 für GBP 93.750,00 (€ 111.329,74) versteigert wurde.
