The work 84-1 by Fong Chung-Ray was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. The result of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,598.15) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fong Chung-Ray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work PAINTING 1984 - 26 in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,639.91).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit 84-1 von Fong Chung-Ray kam im November 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 11.598,15) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fong Chung-Ray auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit PAINTING 1984 - 26 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.639,91).
