Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Abstract Composition NO. 38, 1965 by Fong Chung-Ray was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,614.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fong Chung-Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work PAINTING 1984 - 26 in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,639.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Abstract Composition NO. 38, 1965 von Fong Chung-Ray kam im November 2021 bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.080,00 (€ 3.614,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fong Chung-Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit PAINTING 1984 - 26 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.639,91).
