The work 1973-42 by Fong Chung-Ray was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 14,080.00 (€ 13,303.10), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fong Chung-Ray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work PAINTING 1984 - 26 in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,639.91).

Die Arbeit 1973-42 von Fong Chung-Ray wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 14.080,00 (€ 13.303,10) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fong Chung-Ray auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit PAINTING 1984 - 26 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.639,91).
