A top price for Fong Chung-Ray
When the work PAINTING 1984 - 26 by Fong Chung-Ray was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 120,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,639.91). This high result makes PAINTING 1984 - 26 the most expensive artwork by Fong Chung-Ray that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Fong Chung-Ray
Als die Arbeit PAINTING 1984 - 26 von Fong Chung-Ray im Mai 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 120.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.639,91) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht PAINTING 1984 - 26 zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Fong Chung-Ray, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
