Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Eclectic, which included the work Painting 73 by Fong Chung-Ray. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 94,500.00 (€ 10,813.73), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fong Chung-Ray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work PAINTING 1984 - 26 in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,639.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Eclectic durch, in der auch die Arbeit Painting 73 von Fong Chung-Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 94.500,00 (€ 10.813,73) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fong Chung-Ray auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit PAINTING 1984 - 26 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.639,91).
