Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bread on a pewter platter, an engraved silver cup, with grapes and a plum on a stone ledge by Floris van Schooten was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2012. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,020.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Floris van Schooten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pewter plates with opened oysters, two mackerel, a bun, oyster shells, a bag of tobacco, matches, a white clay pipe, a berkemeier of white wine, a red earthenware brazier with embers and a pewter oval tobacco tin on a wooden table in May 2004 with an auction result of EUR 162,250.00.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.020,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden.
