Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings, which included the work A Kitchen Still Life With Pots And Pans On A Stone Ledge And Animated Figures In The Background by Floris van Schooten. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,126.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Floris van Schooten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pewter plates with opened oysters, two mackerel, a bun, oyster shells, a bag of tobacco, matches, a white clay pipe, a berkemeier of white wine, a red earthenware brazier with embers and a pewter oval tobacco tin on a wooden table in May 2004 with an auction result of EUR 162,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Kitchen Still Life With Pots And Pans On A Stone Ledge And Animated Figures In The Background von Floris van Schooten zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.126,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Floris van Schooten erzielen.
