Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Reader by Florent Willems was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2010. The price achieved of USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,055.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Florent Willems have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le départ pour la chasse au faucon in January 2008 with an auction result of GBP 29,300.00 (€ 39,277.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Reader von Florent Willems wurde im Januar 2010 in der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.055,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Florent Willems auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le départ pour la chasse au faucon im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.300,00 (€ 39.277,91).
