In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work A Sideways Glance by Florent Willems. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,857.40) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Florent Willems have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le départ pour la chasse au faucon in January 2008 with an auction result of GBP 29,300.00 (€ 39,277.91).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Sideways Glance von Florent Willems zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.857,40) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Florent Willems auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le départ pour la chasse au faucon im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.300,00 (€ 39.277,91).
