Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Huele A Cafe by Flora Fong was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,342.86). Admittedly, works by Flora Fong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La colada cotidiana in November 2003 with an auction result of USD 9,560.00 (€ 7,969.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Huele A Cafe von Flora Fong im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.342,86) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Flora Fong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La colada cotidiana im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.560,00 (€ 7.969,99).
