This artwork by Fletcher Martin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2004. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Urchin'S Game sold for USD 15,535.00 (€ 12,511.07) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fletcher Martin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Homage to Marciano, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 48,000.00 (€ 35,890.53).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Fletcher Martin erzielte im September 2004 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Urchin'S Game für USD 15.535,00 (€ 12.511,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fletcher Martin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Homage to Marciano beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 48.000,00 (€ 35.890,53) versteigert wurde.
