In October 2008 Christies in Beverly Hills held the auction California, Western and American Paintings, Drawings, and Sculpture, which included the work The Attack on the Wagon Train by Fletcher Martin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 25,626.87), 30% above the upper estimate. Other works by Fletcher Martin have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 48,000.00 (€ 35,890.53) in March 2007 for the work Homage to Marciano.
